Ronaldsway Security is an absolute horror show. The Civil Servants have purchased new outdated scanning equipment that is unable to scan bags without taking everything out and even then almost all the bags need to be checked by hand after the scanner. The body scanners beep on almost every person who then has to be swiped or searched. A total disgrace!

As someone well travelled, I can confidently say this is one of the most inefficient airports that I have ever set foot in, security wise. Despite having modern scanning technology, security had me remove EVERYTHING from my bag. Every single one of my multiple cameras, lens's, powerbank, headphones, liquids etc. Then of course my bag was pulled aside for further inspection, the guy doing these could not have been slower if he tried. There was a backlog of bags to be checked, which in turn caused congestion as we all waited our turn. My bag was swabbed, which involved waiting for someone to then take the testing strip away to get the results; further contributing to the inefficiency. Everything took much longer than it should.
